Historically, early-stage deal sourcing happened almost entirely through networks and referrals, leaving great opportunities outside the boundaries of VC networks undiscovered and undercapitalized.
This is because traditional startup databases often focus on later-stage companies and offer outdated, superficial information, so there was no place to go to get a full view of new startups.
We believe startups and VC investing are the greatest drivers of progress and innovation in the world—so this magnitude of capital inefficiency seemed worth solving.
Enter Harmonic. We’ve created the only complete startup database, enabling the right investments to reach the right entrepreneurs at the perfect moment. We cover founders just filing for incorporation to scaleups hiring their go-public CFO, all in real-time with rich firmographics, team info, and time-series. Hundreds of venture teams have become data-driven and deployed their dollars more effectively thanks to Harmonic’s sourcing engine.
Data isn’t everything though, and investors’ networks are one of their most valuable assets. Harmonic doesn't replace these networks; we fill the gap of out-of-network data, and marry in the network to facilitate super-powered sourcing.
Harmonic brings every bit of a firm’s network context into its ecosystem:
LinkedIn connections, email and calendar events, and CRM engagements, all mapped onto the startups and operators in our database so you can field opportunities with every bit of relevant context.
Imagine instant alerts when someone in any partner’s network starts something new, warm paths-in laid out for any interesting startup, and the ability to explicitly surface opportunities the firm has not had exposure to.
Our web platform features a robust search engine, customizable alerts, monitoring tools, and extensive API and bulk data options for the data and engineering teams looking to power their own systems.
